19 December 07 - 20:23New satellite receiver installed...

...If you would like to replace a satellite receiver you have, go for a Comag SL65/12. This has blind scan on board and is a compact model also.  Comes with a 12volt psu and you could run the receiver off a 12 volt battery during a power failure.  The second satfeedcam is usually being fed from this receiver so you could see what the picture is like...Do not confuse this receiver with the silvercrest from Lidl as it's totally different.

16 December 07 - 18:17Second satfeedcam installed

...as title.... installed it today in place of the webcam.  I might put the webcam back online sometime.  I use a USB 2.0 interface called a "Dazzle" dvd recorder... but I have installed just the driver, not any of the software.

10 December 07 - 19:41New HF Receiver installed.

During the last week I have installed a "new" HF receiver... a Drake R8E no less.  This is supposedly one of the best made. I have plugged my G5RV into it along with a long wire antenna to see how good it really is. So far it's quite impressive.  I will update the equipment page on the Radio Subsite as soon as I can.

02 December 07 - 14:01More space....

I have now more space on the website. I was limited to 100 Mb, but now I have 250Mb which is better. The Satellite Feed page has been relocated back onto the RadSat server. The phototgraphy pages will also be placed back there soon.
